This last weekend was the Alberta Gift Show, which is one of the places I scoot off  to, when looking for wee treasures for the shop. It is always a pleasure, as my daughter and I make it a ” girly weekend ” filled with much laughter and silliness.

…and off I go!

….Lizzy gave the room her “stamp of approval”

This is what a buying show is….

thousands of vendors….

with fabulous goods…

ripe for the pickin’…

SO  OVERWHELMING  !!!!!

Lizzy and I played hooky

and went to the most amazing production of…

our last night together,

my dear daughter and I had a little “Julia Fix”

What a wonderful trip…thanks Lizzy…we’ll do it all again soon…xoxo

I took a chance of coming early for my cuppa with you….I am expecting company in literally minutes, so I will leave now, but just coming by to wish you a quiet and refreshing evening. I took such a sweet nap today in my loft bedroom, dreaming of creations…..I will be back tomorrow dear one for my usual English Breakfast with a splash of milk!

  6. You clearly have had an amazing time with your beautiful daughter, Rosie. Your mosaics are sweet, I looked at each and every photo for quite some time.
Julia Roberts is my favorite actress!
Sending a huge hug your way for a happy Monday, now off you go, to bed! I just returned home with my littlest one, wet to the bone!!! It’s raining cats and dogs, just the 10 minutes I was outside bringing the kids to school, now I’m here with my first cup of coffee and it stopped raining…. xoxoxoxo

  8. Good morning precious one! Oh, I had a great sleep and this is my last week of play. On Thursday, I go back to my classroom, and I have no idea what I am going to do, but when I get there, I will know! That is how I am. I am planner and well-organized, but I cannot plan TOO far in advance without seeing the workspace and finding out more information, especially about this new school year. My room is now going to be a bilingual classroom; one period will be done in English and the other part of the day will all be French, so I have to find out from other teachers who have taught this model have set up their learning environment. I will wait until Thursday!!!!:)
We must have been thinking about the same thing this weekend: GARDENING!!! I TOO, was outside yesterday as soon as the sun came up! I went to the front boulevard garden first and tended to my lovely thyme and rock garden. I had some low-growing sedums there, but the wooly thyme has gobbled them up, so I pulled them out. Oh, I love that feeling of RENEWAL…everything just shines. Then I worked my way up to our backyard where I have a mini formal boxwood garden. I cleaned up some weeds that poked up in the last several days (with all the rain we have had, I hadn’t gone out to garden) and now my little “Versailles”, as a friend calls it, is sparkling again! And the sound of water flowing while you are out there, ESPECIALLY ALL ALONE, EARLY in the morning….it’s just you and GOD. Your fence is up now, and it must add so much charm to the home…I love a fence, especially a white picket fence. It doesn’t go with our style of home, and for now, we have a chain link (AHHHHHH), but the green hedges are growing so thick through it, you can barely see it now! Ruben was right; just be patient and the hedges will cover it. He prefers to keep the fence.

WOW! What another lovely cuppa! You are off to the big city dearest, and I wish I could just jump in your bag and go away with you!!!! We would have much, much fun. Sending you a hug and well wishes for a blessed Monday morning, and giving everyone who sees you today that famous Rosie SMILE!

Deux bisous à la Parisienne, Anita

  9. What a wonderful trip the two of you had! I think that would be one perfect way to spend a few days, lucky you! Can’t wait to see what wonders you are going to stock up on!

  10. Hi Rosie!
Oh this looks like it was a divine time between mother and daughter…
Lizzie is just adorable! What a sweet face ~ she really shines!

As Saskia wrote… I too enjoyed each part of your collages. I could imagine strolling through so many delightful things. Do you have a “theme” in mind when you buy for the shop?
    ~ ~ ~
My daughters are reading the book, Eat, Pray, Love…
What did you think of the film?
    ~ ~ ~
Time to finish setting my Dad’s breakfast things. He is able to make his own breakfast {he does well with his left hand for this task}. I just get things ‘ready’ and handy.

Thank you, dear ♥ for all your kind comments ~ the world is a gentler place.

have a sweet night ~ Maria

  11. This sounds like such a lovely trip!! It makes me want to have a trip with my mom.
I can’t wait to see that movie :) I hope it was good!
Going to shows like that must be so fun to get stuff for your store. My boss always gets to go. I bet it is overwhelming! But, it would be a fun experience.
    Sweet dreams… xoxoxo

  12. Good morning my dear, dear friend! WHITE HYDRANGEAS are my favorite! A couple of years ago, Ruben planted some BLUE “endless summer” hydrangeas for me, but the blooms are NOT reliable. I tried digging up the plants so that I could replant with WHITE hydrangeas, but WOW….those plants really dig their roots deep and the three plants are IMPOSSIBLE for me to dig up! I would so love to have those puffy white blooms swaying in the wind against my deep EMERALD GREEN arbor vitae hedge. I bet your garden that Bill has put together is just gorgeous. I so want to see more pictures of your creek and yard…I know it has been a tricky summer for everyone…..for us too! Trying to get photos of certain areas of our gardens and home is not convenient at the moment since things are still not in place yet! HOW IS YOUR LOVELY LITTLE FENCE THAT YOU PUT UP? Oh, like me, you have so much going on! And that clawfoot bed…I cannot wait to hear about how the job comes out! Now is this something that you will keep or selling? Oh, I remember my father; he was a professional upholsterer and he would do the lovelies tufting jobs. I really should have learned how to do what he did because finding a good artist and reasonably priced is a job….oh dearest, Ruben and I both had so much fun yesterday; we are finally getting our front room in shape after all these years. Since we are rearranging furniture and new stuff is arriving, we are finally making our living room “guest friendly”. For years the furniture was too big, to packed-in and NOW it is more spacious and beautiful. Today, we are moving out an old chair to make room for my bookcase where I house my favorite childrens’ books and vintage stuffed animals…it will look enchanting in the room. And this FRIDAY, I go back to my classroom to prep and next week, it is meetings galore. I have a class list of my angels and I have studied their names and little sweet faces. 16 girls, and 10 boys!!!!! HEEEEE, we are going to have some fun this year! WOW….long cuppa…..gotta let you go. Oh, and my sweet, you can always share things with me….about the synd…….those things happen; we all have something that we have to watch and live with. I hope that the new season will only bring you more joy and ideas to work on, taking your mind off of things….but when our bodies hurt, it is very hard to live with that. You are in my heart……Oh, my eye is much better!

    BISOUS, Anita
