” I love pretty little things “
Todays little pretty is borrowed from a previous post…
With the last few moments of summer ticking by…and lawns and gardens thirsty, for but a single drop of fall rain…I thought I would share the fresh clean scent of a perfectly wonderful rainy day.

My sorrow, when she’s here with me,
thinks these dark days of autumn rain are beautiful as days can be
she loves the bare, the withered tree;
she walks the sodden pasture lane.

hey rosie!
what a delightful rain and lovely
quote. “my sorrow, when she is
with me…” sometimes i think of
sorrow as a gentle companion
as in “hind’s feet on high places.”
it seems to ease heartache by
simply acknowledging her and
resting instead of struggling
with it.
but oh, your rain! i know i will
be back many times to enjoy
it!
love,
lea
love the verdant green pic with the soft rain gently falling. so pretty!
i hope you have a lovely weekend.

Oh boy I’d be a happy girl if rain like that would fall! That tree lined drive almost has a Gone With the Wind feel, doesn’t it?
Be a good girl Rosie
Hi Rosie!
Sometimes I love a rainy night {Who sang that song? Eddie Rabbit – that’s who!}
Love the motion photo! Awesome, Rosie!
and
what a beautiful poem by Robert Frost. It made me think of that song. Sometimes we need those rainy moments, so that we can wake up to a sunny day~
Wishes for a sweet and restful weekend~ Maria
Oh Maria…that is sooo true…
“Sometimes we need those rainy moments, so that we can wake up to a sunny day~”

Good morning my sweet friend and sister….oh what a pleasure it is to see your visits and comments and last night was a blessing to see your face…..I am very honored to be a part of this on-line magazine, and do you know that I have always had a desire to be a writer for a magazine? HEEE!!!! I got my wish…I may not be a pro, but I did write an article, it is getting published, and VOILÀ! HEEEE
Oh dear one, I hope you had a fine day yesterday; I had the time of my life just enjoying the sunshine beam through my windows, I washed my floor….you know how that makes us so happy….I love the smell of Murphy Oil wood floor soap!!! And my husband and I just enjoyed the house in all its dust-free glory! Well……today……hmmmph, I must get a move on to get into my classroom and start the process; another sort of thinking cap is required now and I don’t know if it fits me anymore!!!!! Oh, thank you for your prayers my sweet….and I am always thinking of you. OH! I will be sending something to the shop via mail…you will get it there, non? Something from my drawing table dearest….just for you.

I love this picture. I can smell that wonderful rain. We haven’t seen it very much here in my neck of the world!
Good morning dearest….it is the weekend, and I hope that you will get much needed rest. Dream of white lovelies, peaceful gardens, cups of tea over chit chat with a dear friend, and of your sweet children…..I was back in my classroom yesterday and though I am excited to see my little charges, I will have a large LEARNING CURVE to deal with, as well as my dear colleagues. The joy is knowing that all of us are in the same boat and will be helping each other out this year. Today is a lovely day here in Minnesota, and I hope to go out and enjoy the sunshine, for soon we shall have the biting cold nipping at our inner beings!!!! I suppose it gets pretty killer diller chiller out your way too!!! Just a quick cuppa to say BONJOUR et Je t’aime bien mon amie…..Bisous, Anita
…well I love the picture & love the sentiment…but I am still hanging onto summer …..!..Have a great weekend…we just got back from 4 days @ the farm…so now to unpack from last weekend!
What a lovely image this is! I love that quote. I am looking forward to the rain, but I want just one more month of sunshine and warmth. This evening so very cold to me that I was wearing a jacket! That made me realize I would like a little more warmth! I do love autumn time though!
I hope you are having a wonderful weekend!
Good morning my precious one! Did you have your lovely bubble bath? Oh, what a relaxing idea!!!! We do not have a tub, but rather, my husband built a 3 X 5 walk-in shower made of limestone; it looks like a Roman bath and the shower pan is huge, so it is really a spa treatment. Well my dearest, YES, my first day back into the classroom was very exciting in that this year, my room is much different. My vision is as clear as it can be for the moment being that a dear colleage that has taught English and French which is what I will be doing, to 50 children, said to think of my room as a communal environment. She instructed me how to set up the space. That is important for me since the first week of school will be spent teaching the kids HOW to use the space, supplies….and it will involve a lot of rotations and stations so my teaching style will have to be tweeked a little; this is what teachers do…LEARN constantly new things. Thank you for asking my friend. So, tomorrow, on Monday, starts the series of in-services and meetings leading up to Tuesday, Sept. 7, the first day of school. NOW TELL ME MY SWEET, DO YOU upholster? You mentioned YOUR MACHINE…..do you a lot of your own upholstery? OH DO TELL! And I love the sound of your new white leather settee! This is all so exciting….and I remember you mentioning gray once. I have decided, thanks to your comment, to paint another table in a faint gray for the living room. My couch is sage green, and the two Louis chairs I have are a tapestry with sage, light gray and I have gold metal in the coffee table. I just saw a book on French design yesterday that had a gray desk with a gold Louis chair. STUNNING! Oh, I could go on and on about décor! What are you up to today on this fine Sunday? We will be having 90 degree weather so I am staying home, I am making one of my handmade books, and doing some drawing for my other books. I just finished a faeriemermaid last night for my sister in law. I will email you a copy so you can see it. I send you all my love and hopes that the coming week will be filled with fun and excitement and WHITE CHIPPY PAINT!!! BISES, Anita
Good afternoon my dear….just stopping in to say hello and that I so appreciate your friendship….enjoy your evening!!! Anita
Your Christmas theme sounds amazing! Oh how I would love to join in on the decorating! I am a Christmas fanatic. The day after Thanksgiving is when all the decorations come out. I wish Christmas was longer than a month! I do so wish I could see your store! Hopefully I can see pictures of your wonderland if you post!
Happy Monday to you!
