Oh you and me both my sweet; I go back THIS morning to my first big district meeting and I also take Ruben to his first day of school! Then, next week is it…my babies come in to meet their “Maîtresse” and I embark on a new teaching model. AHHH! Oh dearest, to learn that YOU DO engage in the art of upholstery is amazing. MY DADDY WAS AN ARTIST at upholstery and worked for years making lovely pieces. I am so impressed with you and your skills. You are right about that piping though, and other areas of the art…it can be extremely hard on the hands. Yesterday, I did a lot and I mean, A LOT of sketching, then I came up from my studio in the basement to my music/writing studio on the main level to play my harp, and my FINGERS AND HANDS were very sore! It is amazing how each craft requires different muscles! I am so excited that you will be painting much white…I so wish I could get a glimpse of what you do and how your shop runs. It sounds like such a success, because to be constantly painting to keep up with the demands says something!!! Do enjoy every minute of your work sweet girl, and we will all be waiting for you to come up for a sip of tea and a nibble at something lovely for the fall. Wishing you a peaceful and FUNNNNNNNNN day with the clients, your workers, your family…MILLE BISOUS, TON AMIE QUI T’AIME, Anita
Hi Rosie…yeah the most nice and busy time of year is coming ….the shop must turn on in christmas seasons….a lot of work for us…..and i think for you too…happy week my darling…nice picture that first one……love and hugs from me…..
Dearest Rosie,
how I understand how busy life can be. School is demanding much more of my time than I anticipated. Tonight is the first night I’ve had to take a moment to catch up.
wishing you a lovely week and looking forward to a cuppa tea when you return.
xoxo, B
Dear Rosie!
There can be a lot of satisfaction in this kind of work… making things just right for future days ahead.
There’s nothing like making something good even better and actually wonderful for another person’s use.
I always appreciate the tender care someone has given something before it’s passed along~
Blessings to you as you work ~
Enjoy a fruitful week, Rosie ♥
love,
Maria
Good morning precious friend! WOW….I wish I could see your excursions into the big city…and those fall colors of which you speak; I too am not a huge fan of burnt orange, mustard or moss green,BUT…if the article is an accessory and is exquisite in fine leather or silk in the form of well-made shoes, a scarf, a bag…then it can really take your breath away! I love what you said once about how you accessorize wearing black; you might wear pumps in a certain color and wear a scarf to match. I love that idea!!!! Oh my dearest, I had a good day at school yesterday. The three meetings I attended were clear, concise and the presenters were encouraging in that they understand that we teachers have so much to do, so much to relearn and a load of responsibility to our community that they are expecting great things from us, BUT that there will be a big learning curve for us. It will take some time to learn the new system. For me, my goal on the first day of school is to meet my students, have them meet each other, get to know the classroom and procedures, play some “get to know you” games and discuss our hopes and dreams for the year. I have another long day today with Wed. and Thursday being reserved for classroom prep and Friday our specific building meeting. I will always come to visit you, no matter how busy the morning…you have been the best friend to me Rosie, and I thank God for your sweet spirit. I pray you have another fine day of making progress, good health, joy and love! Deux bisous à la Parisienne, Anita
Can’t wait to see the new pieces you are working…I’m sure they are going to be beautiful. Thanks for adding me to your site…I still need to figure out how to create myself a button!
I will be thinking of you with your paint brush Rosie. I may even pick up one myself and do a few pieces I have been meaning to get to. Yes, I must before the Winter sets in, because I hate to paint in the house.
I hope you have a wonderful week my dear.
hugs
KNOCK KNOCK!! KNOCK KNOCK!! I’m here! Good morning, Rosie dear!!! I brought some lemon poppyseed scones with homemade lemon curd dearest…let’s sit down with our French white tea cups and relax a bit. Oh my sweet, I do hope your feet have rested (after a long day, I give mine the treatment and end it with a lavender foot bath….wow!)Oh dearest, where do you go to get magnificent fabrics for your upholstery? Did I tell you that a blogger friend who is an artist submits her art work to an on-line company named, “Spoonflower”…they make fabric with your artwork! She designed a French script fabric for me and I ordered one yard in order to upholster my harp bench!!! It is white heavy duty upholstery, I think TWILL? with GOLD French script. She even designed little gold birds flying across the page….I will do the bench myself, that is easy! AND….you know me well, don’t you? This school year IS going to be a challenge, but I enjoy challenges. However, yesterday I felt a bit overwhelmed, but just enough of that sort of feeling actually is what I need to keep the creative juices flowing. AND you are right in saying that it is possible that I will like this better; I think YOU are right. With our French program, it has always been very difficult to work without enough resources. However, our English curriculum is CHOCKED FULL of resources and integrating English into other subjects is so much easier than trying to finagle the French into it all. I love teaching in French and teaching French language, but it will be a good practice to know how to teach English language arts, and the structure of the model is exactly WHAT I NEED AND LOVE!!!! So I believe that even though this is going to require a lot of my learning energy, GOD is good and will grant me and the other new English teachers the grace, stamina and JOY to do our jobs. Well my dearest, you are right in saying that I best get my rest before the big SHOOOOW on Tuesday, Sept. 7. Rest is so needed for a healthy outlook and work performance, and I hope that you are ready for another fruitful day. You and I both love checklists and ticking off what we have accomplished! Mmmmmmmm, that was a yummy cuppa, and next time, I’ll bring some lemon bars!!!! BISOUS ma belle, Anita
GOOD MORNING DEAR ONE! Today, I bring you some CHOCOLATE GINGERBREAD SCONES….and some vanilla tea….let’s sit down and look at our “To Do” list together. Oh dearest, I woke up at 2:00am this morning and have been up since! I have an open house to do this evening, more classroom prep and over-all preparing for my 50 children! Like you, it is so hard for me to put aside my responsibilities and things that I want to get done…that is what drives me to get up early and get an early start, even throughout the school year! It sounds like you have some fun and fulfilling things lined up however, and again, like you, housekeeping (WHICH I LOVE) is in order chez moi. Because when school starts, it is harder to keep the house clean! Oh dearest, you are going to have a wonderful time with you mum at the lake. It will be good for you because your duties will always be there, but the memories and moments with mum won’t….I could easily tell my husband NO! when he wants to go for a walk when I really could be doing something else constructive, but walking is GREAT exercise, and the chats we have together while doing so are sometimes so memorable, deep, inspiring, and are a once-in-a-lifetime thing. This weekend, I am going to paint a darling table that I found in the TRASH DOWN THE STREET…shhhhhhhhhh…..and I am going to paint it a soft gray called, “Sculptor Clay” from Behr paints. It is going to look so lovely, and you inspired me! The table will go in my living room when the building is finished (scheduled now to start in October!) and the color of the table will go beautifully with my sage couch and French chairs that have muted greens that bleed into a sage/gray tone. Oh, how fun it is to decorate…well sweet one, I hope you enjoyed your chocolate scones with bits of dried ginger and chocolate chips…one more cup of vanilla tea and I must dash of…..sending you a hug and wishes for an exciting day at the shop….and I WISH I COULD SEE YOUR UPHOLSTERY PROJECTS!!!! MILLE BISOUS, Anita
Bonjour ma chère amie! Oh, I think I got my rest last night; but would you believe that I wasn’t a bit tired? I was literally RUNNING back and forth from my classroom to the printer, to the office, to other classrooms, to the auditorium, IN HEELS? Since we had our open house later in the afternoon, I came all dressed and prepared but worked ALL morning and day and still, we are all not done. Today at 8:00am we start an all day school meeting but I need to get in earlier to prepare for TUESDAY because our meeting will take up the whole day! So….I did not get outside, but just as well….we had hail, winds, and weather that was not conducive to relaxation!!!! But, the Lord is showing me in His quiet manner, that in spite of the fact that it will be a difficult, stressful and challenging year, there is a GREAT reason to have FAITH….I got an idea for my blog post while speaking to a colleague who is a believer and she sparked an idea in me. I know that you will be gone enjoying some time with your mum, but I do hope you will have time to read it. I may even include a drawing that I made to go with it….AND I am going to check out that marvelous color that you mention, Benjamin Moore Edgecomb Grey!!!! THAT SOUNDS FANTASTIC! And it is the color of your shoppe? THEN I MUST SEE IT TODAY AFTER SCHOOL!!! Well my sweet one, I will now go wake up my dear husband so I can get out of the house by 5:00am. I pray that you have a restful, FUN and productive day….and a safe and memorable trip with your sweet mum. Ahhhh…..that was a fine cuppa; you make the best dear friend.
Oh, You are Missed, Missed, Missed! Come back soon Rosie. There is too big of a Blogger Hole with out you out there in Blog World!
No pressure…Ha ha
Love,
Joyce
Oh my kind friend; you are always there for me. In the dark night of fatigue and fear, your friendship is like a star….it is ALWAYS there, but shines particularly bright when the path is dark and yes, lonely. Your visits restore in me the faith that there are friends that really are sincere and care enough to say a kind word. I am sitting here trying to compose my post, but I am so tired now….it will be a short and rather simple one, but at least it is a communication of my ideas. You sweet soul you, you are sore…I am “sore” in the brain from too much overflow and ridiculous expectations!!!! God bless His little children that are in my wake!!!! BLESSINGS TO YOU DEAR ONE FOR A FAB weekend. Lots of love to you dear one, Anita
Bonjour dearest, Rosie! I know you are quite busy but I do hope you are taking time for yourself and have a cup of tea.
Wishing a most beautiful weekend, dear friend.
xoxo, B
Oh dear one, I so loved seeing your pretty little head pop in today for a quick bite of an orange scone and a sip of tea…we shall reconvene when you get back. I will tell you all about the new book I bought today called, FRENCH HOME…and the little gray table I PAINTED TODAY!!!! Oh, I saw that BM paint you mentioned; STUNNING IT IS!!! BISES, Anita
enjoy the painting & we’ll be here when you get back.
sending you hugs
